How to clean: Diamonds

Diamond is in fact the hardest natural substance on earth, it can cut any kind of rock or metal. And only another diamond can cut a diamond.

Diamonds are natural magnets for grease. So how to keep your precious stones clean and sparkling?

• Take a small bowl to combine 1 part mild dish washing detergent with 3 parts warm water.

• Dip a soft bristle toothbrush into the soap mixture.

• Gently scrub the stone and the metal backing.

• Where the diamond is held in place by pressure from the shank, it shouldn’t be scrubbed too hard, so be gentle with the toothbrush.

• Just rinse your diamond jewelry with water and dry with a soft cloth.

• Note: if you’re working over a sink, make sure to close the drain.
